Throughout the year, the brand is known for running high value giveaways, often giving away a free set of skies and a season pass of the winner's choice.

This super compelling offer brings in thousands of entrants, and helps to fill their funnel and Klaviyo flows that drive conversions.

In past promotions, the primary call to action has been to drive people to an onsite popup or landing page to fill out a form to submit their giveaway entry

And while this works great for visitors already on their site, it presents some friction for their 125,000 Instagram followers.

J Skis came to Gatsby with the goal of helping Instagram Users enter their giveaway right from Instagram, while also continuing to have them opt into their Klaviyo email and SMS flows too.

Giveaway Setup Steps:

J Skis created 3 Instagram DM auto-replies in Gatsby (10 minute setup):

Step 1: DM Keyword "FREESKIS"

"Reply with your phone number of email to enter to win free skis!"

 

Step 2: Email List Capture

When an Instagram user chooses to reply to Step 1 with their email address, they receive the following branded button in the DM to join their email list:

Step 3: SMS List Capture

When an Instagram user chooses to reply to Step 1 with their phone number, they receive the following branded button in the DM to join their SMS list:

Now with these three simple DM automations, Instagram users can enter their giveaway and subscribe to J Skis' email and/or SMS lists right from Instagram.

This new opt-in flow from DMs is reducing friction and improving user experience.

While its still a bit early to measure the increase that Gatsby is driving for this giveaway compared to previous giveaways, the early feedback is promising.
