Evereve Achieves 91% Email & SMS Opt-In Rate from Giveaway, Generating $500K in Net Sales over 3 months

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Evereve launched a high-impact Instagram giveaway powered by Gatsby. By combining a compelling prize with seamless automation, the campaign generated thousands of new email and SMS subscribers for the brand. The team spent about $2,000 on the campaign and earned over $500,000 in sales over the following 3 months.


Challenge

As a leading women’s fashion brand, Evereve has cultivated a thriving Instagram community filled with engaged followers who love their modern, approachable styles.

However, turning their social media supporters into subscribers on their owned marketing channels like email and SMS was an ongoing challenge.

Evereve sought a scalable solution to convert their nearly 600,000+ followers into subscribers, increase their customer lifetime value, and get better sales attribution from social.

With their 20th anniversary approaching, Evereve identified this milestone as the perfect opportunity to drive meaningful engagement that ultimately drove their fans to subscribe and convert.

Campaign

Evereve announced their anniversary giveaway on Instagram, offering a $2,000 shopping spree for one lucky winner and their three friends. The entry process was designed to maximize engagement and capture valuable subscribers. The steps to enter:

  1. Follow Evereve on Instagram
  2. Like the giveaway post
  3. Tag 3 friends for their chance to win
  4. DM the keyword “20” to complete their entry

This final action to DM the keyword is what sets this campaign apart from similar giveaways on Instagram and drove Klaviyo list growth.

This simple yet effective workflow leveraged Gatsby’s automated DM triggers to make subscribing seamless and scalable.

Results

Results after 24 hours

  • 3,034 DM'ed the keyword "20"
  • 2,729 (90%) joined their Klaviyo email or SMS list:
    • 2,097 opted into email
    • 698 opted into SMS
    • 85 subscribed to both email and SMS
  • 30 orders placed by new subscribers, delivering immediate ROI

Results after 1 month

  • 4,800 total giveaway entries over the 5 day period
  • 4,400 (91%) joined their Klaviyo email or SMS list
  • 1,101 orders placed by these subscribers, net sales of $200,507*

Results after 3 months

  • 4,500 total email and SMS subscribers.
    • 3,526 Instagram users provided their email
      • 790 (23%) emails were net new to their Klaviyo list
    • 1,118 provided their phone number (140 provided both).
      • 615 (56%) SMS were net new to their Klaviyo list
  • 3,581 orders were placed by these subscribers, net sales $568,908

The giveaway not only grew Evereve’s marketing lists but also drove tangible revenue right away, with sales still climbing as their Klaviyo marketing continues.

*This month included Black Friday Cyber Monday which no doubt expanded the conversion rate, but the ROI is still tremendous.

DM Keyword Auto-Reply

When an Instagram User DM'ed the keyword of "20" it kicked off an auto-reply sequence that subscribed the user to their Klaviyo email or SMS list:

"Welcome to the Cheers to 20 years giveaway! To finish your entry for $500 for you and $500 for three of your friends, reply with your email address or phone number now:"

 

Converting Instagram Followers to Email:

If the Instagram User chose to reply with their email address, then they received this DM auto-responder connected to the brand's Klaviyo Email List:

 

By clicking the Join Email List button, they immediately subscribed to the brand's Klaviyo email list.

Converting Instagram Followers to SMS:

If the Instagram User chose to reply with their phone number, then they received this DM auto-responder connected to the brand's Klaviyo SMS List:

 

By clicking the Join SMS List button, they immediately subscribed to the brand's list and received the standard double opt-in:

Segmenting in Klaviyo:

With Gatsby’s strong Klaviyo integration, the keyword “20" synced to Klaviyo, allowing the brand to send out targeted messaging to these entrants.
